School’s In Session: Cody Intends To Stay Open Friday
Written by Andrew-Rossi on February 11, 2021
Park County School District #6 will try to remain open for classes on Friday, Feb. 12, despite the sub-zero temperatures throughout the Bighorn Basin.
The announcement was made on the district’s Facebook page:
Park 6 is planning – as of now – to run all busses and hold school, as usual, tomorrow, Friday, the 12th. Mr. Hummel, Transportation Director, will be in touch with families who may have challenges getting their students out to meet their bus. (Rural routes) If something changes, you will receive a text and phone call early in the morning!
Please encourage your students to dress appropriately for the snow and cold weather. All activities will be held indoors, including recess. Stay tuned!
The National Weather Service in Riverton anticipates a high temperature of 9 below zero Friday. Temperatures should be higher – above zero – by the weekend.
This is a developing story. More updates will be posted as information becomes available.
