Scoring Hard To Come By For the Lady Warriors

Written by on January 29, 2021

The Lady Warriors won three in a row. Had their highest scoring game of the season five days ago with 62 points verse Lovell. Going to Lander 7-3 overall and 2-0 in the Northwest Quad.

Points became hard to come by for the Lady Warriors. The 48-29 loss to Lander was the lowest amount of points the Lady Warriors have scored all season.

No Lady Warriors had more then nine points. Darla Hernandez had nine, seven of those in the final period.

Coming off a weekend that saw Tymberlynn Crippen hit eight of eleven from three point range. She was only able to take one shot from behind the arc. Unfortunately it didn’t fall. She had five points against Lander.

The first period the Lady Warriors had seven points. They would get four more in the second period and go into half down thirteen 24-11.

Denali Jones had six points. Logan Yule had a three pointer and Brooke Wright had five including a three that were the first points of the game.

Turnovers and missed shots were at the center of the lack of offence. Worland have won games this season that a team scored more then 48. Shots just didn’t fall for them last night.

The Lady Warriors held Lander’s leading scorer Demi Stauffenberg to ten points. Five less then her season average. Defensively Worland played well. Taline Tendore had twelve points and Ryan Bell had elven for the Lady Tigers.

Three other Lady Tigers would score with Whitney Hansen having seven.

Worland heads to Rawlins Saturday to face a Lady Outlaw team that is 2-6. Listen here on KWOR 104.7FM/1340AM or online at mybighornbasin.com
