Smoke Here to Stay This Summer

The smoke in the air has been so thick that Cedar, Rattlesnake and Heart Mountain have been completely obscured the past few days.
However, meteorologists at the National Weather Service in Riverton say that the smoke doesn’t come from any local fires – and add that it won’t be going away anytime soon. Noah Myers at the Riverton office says that the heavy smoke is still coming from the fires in the western part of the U.S.
Myers adds that the way the weather patterns are shaping up, the smoke is here to stay for a few weeks yet.
Myers says there may be some days where an easterly wind may clear the skies temporarily, but he advises residents to expect smoky skies until the snow flies.
