A film company showing off four of the strongest human beings on earth is asking for audience participation this weekend in Cody.
Donald Meyerson with the production company Entertainment One is inviting local residents to be part of the filming of the History Channel series, The Strongest Man in History. He told the Cody City Council Tuesday that the show features four of the strongest men in the world, performing displays of might.
Today and tomorrow, the historic Irma Hotel will be at the center of the action. Meyerson says they’d like an audience to fill the Irma’s restaurant and saloon today to witness a 475-pound sack lift contest. The contest begins at noon, and spectators are asked to be in attendance by 11:30 a.m.
Tomorrow, the contestants will be outside, where they will compete in a “Piano Marathon,” racing each other carrying 500-pound pianos on their backs. The race will take place on Sheridan Avenue in front of the Irma. The street will be closed for the filming, which will begin around 11:15 tomorrow morning. The race will begin around 1 p.m.
