Postseason action for 2018 regarding the Cody High School varsity soccer along with Bronc/Filly outdoor track and field teams really goes into full swing here on this Thursday by way of their such Wyoming 3A Classification State culminating events, which end Saturday.  Those particular footballers compete in Jackson while the tracksters are at Casper.

The defending Class 3A State champion CHS boys soccer players, who are the second seed of their specific Northwest Quadrant, begin their respective tournament with a first-round match versus that Southwest’s champ and therefore top-seeded – as well as wyopreps.com No. 2-ranked – Star Valley HS Braves from Afton late this morning.  These Broncs had fallen twice already against SVHS on the year’s regularly-scheduled campaign.  They got blown away by these Braves 9-1 earlier this May out of town most recently as well as being defeated 6-2 at home kicking off their slates back in mid-March.

As for certain reigning State crown-wearing Cody girls soccer: that squad – No. 1-seeded along with ranked – has that corresponding Southwest Quadrant’s second seed Riverton Lady Wolverines by the quarterfinals come their tourney sooner today.  These Fillies won a pair of games with RHS by the regular season.  They’d shutout these Lady Wolverines 3-0 at home toward the close of April and 2-0 away about a month prior.

Meanwhile, CHS boys/girls track both open their 3A State meet with only some events throughout the day.  Not that everybody will do everything, but these Cody Broncs have 18 kids eligible for 17 events and these Fillies – who are the current 3A West Regional titleists – have 19 kids qualified by 17 disciplines.  (The Star Valley Braves – two times, and back-to-back-to-back West Regional champions – along with Lady Braves presently hold the State crowns.)
