State Swim Recap: Broncs 10th, Powell 6th

The Cody Bronc Swim Team would wrap up their season over the weekend as they were in Gillette for
the Class 3A State Swim Meet.
After a “amazing” day put in by the Broncs during Thursday’s pre-lims, Finals would get underway on Friday. The Broncs would finish 10th overall with 63 points, the most accumulated in several years.
The Powell Panthers would finish in 6th with Lander winning the title, their 26th straight.

200 Medley Relay – 6th place finish (J. Killpack, B. McKenzie, B. Fick, W. Law), 1:46.52
200 Free – Brad Fick, 12th place finish, 2:00.03 (swimming about 5 minutes after the relay was done!)
200 IM – Bradley McKenzie, 11th place finish, 2:14.34
100 Fly – Joseph Killpack, 7th place finish, 55.64
100 Free – Brad Fick, 11th place finish, 52.86
200 Freestyle Relay – 11th place finish (C. Kingston, I. Wood, J. Woods, W. Law), 1:47.02
100 Back – Joseph Killpack, 5th place finish, 56.26
100 Breast – Bradley McKenzie, 1:03.86
400 Free Relay – 7th place finish (B. Fick, J. Woods, J. Killpack, B, McKenzie), 3:34.56
Some other top performances include:
Powell’s Nate Johnston would have himself a great meet as well. Johnston would win the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 57.63. He also helped Powell’s 200 Yard Medley Relay team take 4th, was 5th in the 200 Yard IM.
Powell’s Ru Parker would finish 4th in the 100 Yard Back and was 6th in the 100 Yard Butterfly.
