Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office Auctioning Cars With Bids Starting at $100

The Sweetwater County Sheriff”s Office will be auctioning an array of abandoned vehicles on Tuesday, July 11.
According to the department’s Facebook page, the following cars will be available to bid on:
– 2007 Dodge Caliber (starting bid of $100)
– 2018 Chevrolet Traverse (starting bid of $100)
– 2005 Chevrolet Impala (starting bid of $108)

According to the agency’s social media post, they occasionally sell abandoned property. “After trying to locate the original owner(s), we post notices in public places and publish them in newspapers before the items are auctioned to the public in accordance with Wyoming law.”
The department has no history with any of the vehicles available for auction and majority of the vehicles do not have keys. All vehicles will be auctioned “as-is, with no warranties expressed or implied.” The sheriff’s office also reserves the right to reject any or all bids that come in.
The auction is scheduled to start at 10am at the Sheriff’s Office, 50140B U.S. Highway 191 South in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Auction pickup for the vehicles is scheduled for Friday, July 14, 2023 during normal business hours. All auction vehicles are cash only.
