Tara Joyce’s Record Setting Performance leads the way for Filly Swim at State

The Cody Fillies Swim and Dive team was in Gillette over the weekend taking part in the State Swim Meet.

The Fillies would finish 6th place as a team at State.

Picking things up on Friday’s action where Tara Joyce would set a new state record in the 200 free with a time of 1:51.98 while her teammate Paige Bower took 5th with a time of 2:07.98.

Joyce would also set the State record in the 100 free with a time of 51.49 to break here 51.80 time that she set in the prelims on Thursday. That’s about the 4th time Tara has broke the 100 free record.

The Fillies 200 Free Relay team of Kelsey Pomajzl, Great Morgenweck, Elle Ortner and Tara Joyce would take 5th at state.

The Fillies 400 free relay of Paige Bower, Elle Ortner, Kelsey Pomajzl and Tara joyce would finish 3rd.

Tara – 3A athlete of the meet and of the year

200 IM: 12th, 2:34.97: Kelly Joyce

50 Free: 11th, 27.39: Elle Ortner

Diving: 12th, Hailey Holeman

100 Fly: 11th, 1:09.47

100 Free: 1st, 51.49: Tara Joyce (New State Record)

500 Free: 3rd, 5:43.31: Paige Bower
