Law enforcement officers from around northwest Wyoming will be participating in the Torch Run for Special Olympics, which begins this morning at the Comfort Inn in Cody.
Officers will run from the Comfort Inn to the Cody High School beginning at 9 a.m., and then will present the Flame of Hope at the opening ceremonies for the Area 1 Summer Games at 10 a.m.
Officer Jason Dollard with the Cody Police Department says that following the Special Olympic events at the Cody High School and the Cody Rec Center, officers in uniform will present medals to the athletes.
The Torch Run is part of a larger series of fundraising events that directly benefit Special Olympics athletes in Wyoming.
