Warrior Football Sets Tone For The Season
Written by Chance Bond on August 29, 2022
The Worland Warriors High School Football Team saw live action for the first time this weekend.
In what has now been dubbed “Zero Week” by the football world Worland had a live scrimmage with Thermopolis.
Seniors Kade Weber and his quartet of Wide Receivers: Carter Clark, Brock Douzenis, Court Gonsalez, and Tre Bennett
The five Seniors were on the field together, in live action, for the first time at Warrior Stadium.
The talent was on full display and the potential of what we might see for the season was apparent.
Weber threw touchdowns to Clark, Gonsalez, and Douzenis.
Junior Klayton Baugh succeeded at the Running Back position and Sophomore Ethan Burns.
The Warrior Offensive Line overcame and made the appropriate adjustments to allow the skill players to play well.
Defensively the Warriors had 3 interceptions.
The secondary for the Warriors was able to make plays, while Sophomores Roman Parra and Mason Decker made plays and tackles from sideline to sideline.
Worland would get the home pre-season win over Thermopolis 40-29.
The Warriors will begin the regular season at home at Warrior Stadium this Friday at 7pm against rival Powell.
The student council has themed this game as the “White Out” game.
They are asking that all in attendance wear white.
