Warriors Basketball With Big Wins This Weekend

Worland Warrior Basketball has won 11 straight games since starting the season 1-3.

They are 12-3 overall and 3-0 in the conference.

Friday the Warriors took on Mountain View for the second time this season.

The first game was a 59-36 Warrior win.

Worland came out in the first period with 26 points, 13 of those by Senior Kade Weber, the most in a period all season by the Warriors holding the Buffalos to 9 points.

The Warriors would end the half with a 24-point lead 41-17.

The third period would end with a 36-point Warrior lead, four points shy of a continuously running clock, 56-20.

With just under 5 minutes remaining the Warriors would take a 41-point lead and would finish 67-29 over Mountain View.

Weber led the team in scoring with 16, all in the first half, followed by Carter Clark with 14, Owen Page with 12, Court Gonsalez with 10, and Brock Douzenis with 8.

Saturday afternoon was a match-up of 2 ranked teams.

Wyoming 3A number 2 Worland, and Wyoming 3A number 5 Lyman.

The Eagles came into the game with a 9-5 record having beaten Thermopolis the night before 48-30.

Worland again started fast with 21 first-period points ending the first 21-10.

The Warriors would add 19 points in the 2nd period and lead at the half 40-25.

Lyman would continue to score at a pace that was just behind that of the Warriors ending the 3rd period 55-39.

The Eagles would a 15 in the 4th period but it wasn’t enough the Warriors would get a 14-point win 68-54.

Lyman’s Braydon Bradshaw did score a team-high 29 points.

For the Warriors, Kade Weber had 19, Carter Clark with 16, Brock Douzenis with 10, and Court Gonsalez and Landen Gilmore each with 8.
