West Park Wins Award for Excellence

West Park Hospital continues to be recognized for excellence in their efforts to enhance patient experience.
Last month, the Hospital was notified that for the eighth straight year, they were awarded the Jeff Martin Gold Award for Excellence for their efforts to enhance patient safety and overall safety for families, staff and the communities served by Yellowstone member hospitals.
Since the program’s inception in 2009, West Park has won the top-level Jeff Martin Award for Excellence every year. Public Relations Director Ashley Trudo says this extended success underscores the hospital’s deep commitment to enhanced patient safety throughout the organization.
West Park has won the award for a range of initiatives in the past including the prevention of falls, the mitigation of medication errors and the establishment of a “time out” protocol to make certain the right patient is receiving the right surgery at the right site every time. This year the hospital won the award for putting in place a clear protocol to enhance post-operative cardiopulmonary treatment.
