WHSAA Adds Girls Wrestling as Sanctioned Sport

In some big news out of the Wyoming High School Sports ranks.

According to various media outlets, it was announced on Wednesday that the Wyoming High School Activities Association passed the vote to add girls wrestling to the 2022-23 season.

Girls wrestling will officially become a sanctioned high school sport next year.

As Reported by Jeremiah Johnke of WyoSports.net “The sport will start with the 2022-23 season. A committee will iron out the details about the format of the regular season and postseason, WHSAA associate commissioner Trevor Wilson confirmed in a text to WyoSports on Wednesday afternoon.”

Wyoming becomes the 36th state to sanction Girls Wrestling as an official high school sport.
