Worland Cross Country Head To Regionals

The Worland Warrior Cross Country team is in the final 2 weeks of the season as they prepare to head to Torrington for the East Regional Meet.
Worland was in Powell last week at the Pinnacle Bank Powell Invite with 10 other teams including Cody, Lander, Lovell, Powell, Riverton, Rocky Mountain/Burlington, St. Stephens, Thermopolis, Tongue River, Wind River, and Worland.
The Warriors finished 2nd overall at the meet just behind Cody.
Sophomore Trajn Swalstad finished 6th, Senior Jack Bishop 7th, Senior Melvin Croft 14th, Senior Harley Redding 15th, Sophomores Kiyoshi Smith 18th, Scottie Thomas 19th, and Junior Ira Croft 22nd.
The same runners will also be the 7 Varsity team members at Regionals.
The Lady Warriors finished 4th overall at Powell.
Sophomore Zena Tapia 3rd, Junior Nyssa Leyva 19th, Senior Isaira Matamoros 21st, Sophomore Keira Woffinden 31st, Senior Carly Venable 33rd, and Senior Sarai Matamoros 36th.

Those same Lady Warriors will be the Regional Varsity team.
Worland Cross Country will see heavy competition from Buffalo and Douglas on a course the team hasn’t seen before in Torrington.
