Worland Sending 18 Wrestlers To State

The Worland Warrior wrestling team will send 18 wrestlers to the Wyoming 3A State Championships at the Ford Wyoming Center in Casper Wyoming this Friday.

The Championships will include : Buffalo, Burns/Pine Bluffs, Cody, Douglas, Green River, Lander, Lyman, Mountain View, New Castle/Upton, Pinedale, Powell, Rawlins, Riverton, Star Valley, Torrington, Wheatland, and Worland.

Worland has two wrestlers ranked number one in their weight classes. Luke Goncalves at 160. Luke is also going for his third straight State Title. All at the 160 pound weight class. Lane McBee won first at Regionals in Douglas at the 195 pound weight class.

Aaron Carver at the 152 pound weight class, Ross Goncalves at 120, and Christian Peterson at 220 all won first at Regionals.

Second place finishes by Anthony Martinez at 106, Kein Anderson at 132, Ralph Moreno at 182, and Heavy Weight Koby Tigner.

Koby Swain at 113, Colton Woffinden at 145, Bryce Woffinden at 160, and Josh Rose at 170 all finished third.

Also making the trip to Casper with 4th place finishes are : 126 Kyle Anderson, 132 Jaden Lloyd, 182 Ty Harris, 138 Guillian Comstock, and 152 pounder Felix Lentsch.

Worland finished second at the East Regionals in Douglas. The Bearcats won the East Regional Championships. The Warriors are also ranked second in the State of Wyoming 3A wrestling just behind defending State Champions Star Valley Braves.

The Warriors look to have several wrestlers compete and win State Titles this season. Giving them an opportunity to win a team State Championship.
