Worland Warrior Soccer Wins Again

Written by on April 19, 2021

The eight hour round trip to Pinedale Saturday did very little to wear out the Worland Warriors Boy’s Soccer team.

The Warriors have allowed just one goal in the first five games, the first game of the season against Sheridan was the only goal.

Senior Backline Defender J.T. Klinghagen was asked about the dominance of the Defense. “It’s something we work on everyday in practice.” the Senior would go on to say. “It’s not just the back four, it starts all the way from the forward.” J.T. would add. “Defense is a team effort.”

Sophomore Goal Keeper Kade Weber hasn’t given up a goal himself all season. With 3 saves Saturday against the Wranglers. Pinedale would only have 5 shots on goal the entire 80 minutes. Kade averages just over 4 saves a game with 21 on the season.

“One of the biggest prides on our team is playing really good solid team defense.” Klinghagen was quick to add about the mentality of the Warrior team.

Worland doesn’t lack on the scoring end either.  Lead by Junior Forward Cole Venable who had 4 goals verse Pinedale Saturday. Venable has 11 goals this season. Just over 2 per game.

Goals came from Yahir Rodriquez and Court Gonzalez who had 2 goals each. Riley Blood and Gavin Schneider each had a goal against Pinedale.

The Warriors will play Cody Tuesday and face the number 4 ranked Broncs. You can listen here on KWOR 104.7FM/1340AM or online at mybighornbasin.com
