Wyoming Legislature Begins 2022 Budget Session

The 66th Wyoming Legislature convenes in a Joint Session of the Wyoming Senate and House of Representatives on Monday to begin the 2022 Budget Session.

Feb. 14 is the first day of the 2022 Budget Session. Legislators will soon be in the intense process of debating and voting on a series of legislation while they ensure Wyoming properly allocates its money.

The session begins at 1o a.m. with Gov. Mark Gordon’s State of the State address. After the governor, Wyoming Supreme Court Chief Justice Kate M. Fox. will deliver the State of the Judiciary address.

Following the Joint Session, the bodies will hold opening ceremonies and introduce legislation in their respective chambers at 2 p.m.

Various resources are available on the Wyoming Legislature website, including legislation and amendments sponsored by legislative committees and individual members. The text of each bill is posted on the Legislature’s website once the House Bill or Senate File is assigned a number.

Wyoming residents can track the status of bills in the House and Senate via the legislative website by clicking on the “View and Track Legislation” link on the homepage.

In addition, residents can find information about how their legislators voted by clicking on the “Votes” tab on each bill page. After each roll call vote is taken on the House and Senate Floor, the results are posted.

Information regarding the dates and times of standing committee meetings and House and Senate daily floor schedules are also available. In addition, calendars of floor proceedings in the Senate and House are posted in the late afternoon for the next day’s activities, including the legislation under consideration and the general order of business.
