Yellowstone’s Summer Coming to a Close

Written by on October 4, 2018

If you’re looking to take one last drive into Yellowstone before the summer season officially ends, the next few days would be the time to do it.
Summer season is winding down in Yellowstone National Park, which means that the Old Faithful Inn is closing as well. The Inn closes this Sunday, October 7, and remains closed all winter. Nearby Old Faithful Snow Lodge closes two weeks later, October 21, but will open again in December for the winter season.
And local residents are reminded that the East Gate to Yellowstone will close at Sedge Bay on October 15th for the construction set to take place at Fishing Bridge and Pelican Bay. Visitors to the area will still have access to Yellowstone up to that point – otherwise they will need to enter through the Northeast Gate, as long as weather permits.
