Zero Tolerance for Speeders at Work Sites

Drivers, be aware – the Wyoming Department of Transportation is enforcing speed zones at the construction sites west of Cody.
Cody Beers with WYDOT says that dangers to workers at both the climbing area parking lot work site and the rockfall mitigation project have prompted the state to impose a zero-tolerance attitude towards drivers who ignore the speed limits in the work zones.
The two projects together mean a twenty-minute delay from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through the end of the month. The climbing area parking lot project requires a ten-minute delay, round the clock, in order for the contractor to complete the work by the 30th of April. The rockfall mitigation project also imposes a ten-minute delay during the middle of the day, but contractors allow traffic to pass freely during prime commuting time.
