Boost Your Body Image

Written by on April 13, 2017

When you decide to make healthy changes, you don’t want to wait until you’re finally at your goal to feel better about yourself – honestly, that could take months or even years! But you absolutely need to appreciate your journey. I’m Wendy Corr, and for today’s wellness tip, I want to give you some ideas how you can feel better about yourself NOW.

Wellness isn’t just about physical health – it’s about emotional, spiritual and mental health as well. And when you’re making physical changes, the journey can seem so slow that often you may feel like quitting before you reach your destination!

Here are some ways you can feel better about your body during your transformation:

First, make a list of positive things about yourself – not just your body, but about who you are as a person. Refer to it whenever you get feeling down.

Second, focus on improvements! When you reach a milestone – like being able to do 10 pushups when you used to only be able to do one – celebrate that! Look at how far you’ve come, not on how far you have left to go.

Ignore the nay-sayers. There will always be people in our lives who focus on the negative. Don’t let other people’s unhappiness with their own lives sway you from improving yours!

Instead, find people who motivate you! Surround yourself with people who will lift you up and support you along the way.

When it comes to body image, wear clothes that bring out the best in you – colors, cut and style make a huge difference in how you feel, especially when you start to see positive changes in your figure!

And the best way to improve your body image is to SMILE. It looks good on the outside, and makes you feel good on the inside!
