CHS Introducing Trimester Schedule

Cody High School is making some major changes to their scheduling structure.
At a meeting last night in the CHS band room, parents and school staff gathered to ask and answer questions about the new trimester schedule that will be implemented next year.
CHS Principal Jeremiah Johnston says that with budget reductions being mandated by the state, staff began researching different models that would allow for fewer staff members to teach a wider variety of classes.
Johnston told parents that rather than a four-class-per-semester block schedule, students will now have the opportunity to take five classes, with shorter class times. And he says this will also give students the option to take more exploratory classes.
He adds that the new schedule won’t affect the master calendar as far as vacation days or graduation rates – but it will relieve some pressure for a shrinking staff, while still meeting graduation and Hathaway Scholarship requirements for students.
