The changing of the guard took place last night at the Cody City Council meeting.
As three longtime City Council members stepped away from their seats, three new faces joined the remaining members on the dais at City Hall. Stan Wolz, Donny Anderson and Karen Ballinger appeared as official City representatives last night for the last time, making way for newcomers Heidi Rasmussen, Diane Ballard and Justin Baily.
Ballinger took the opportunity to thank fellow council members and City staff for their wisdom, expertise and dedication that she said has served the City so well over the years that she’s been on the Council. She also made it a point to praise Mayor Matt Hall for the work that he’s done in his first two years in office.
Next week, two more newly elected officials will be sworn in for service to Park County. At the next County Commissioners meeting on January 8th, Commissioners Tim French and Loren Grosskopf will be stepping down, making way for Dossie Overfield and Lloyd Thiel.
