Cody Business Named Best BBQ In Wyoming

A local food truck has been recognized by a national magazine as being the best barbecue joint in the state of Wyoming.
Time Magazine published an article on their Money website last week that listed the best loved barbecue joints in each of the 50 states. From the “Meat Boss” in Alabama to the “Binge BBQ” in Rhode Island, each state’s top choice was picked from reviews and ratings given to businesses on the “Yelp” restaurant app.
In Wyoming, Fat Racks Barbecue, which operates out of a trailer on the corner of Beck and 12th Street in Cody, was touted as the best barbecue in the state.
Owners Michael and Lejean Mitchell, who brought their signature brisket from their previous home in Texas, say when they came up from Denton, Texas four years ago to sell barbecue, Cody customers caught on to their brisket, which Michael says he learned to cook growing up in Texas doing competition cooking with his dad.

The Mitchells take their food truck on the road, as well, catering events as well as competing in BBQ contests around the region.
