Create New Habits of Health – Avoid Processed Foods!

Written by on January 24, 2017

WHY is clean eating important?

As noted on the the website fitness.gov:
“Unhealthy eating habits have contributed to the obesity epidemic in the United States: about one-third of U.S. adults (33.8%) are obese and approximately 17% (or 12.5 million) of children and adolescents aged 2—19 years are obese.
Even for people at a healthy weight, a poor diet is associated with major health risks that can cause illness and even death. These include heart disease, hypertension (high blood pressure), type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis, and certain types of cancer. By making smart food choices, you can help protect yourself from these health problems!”

So much of our food issues come from PROCESSED FOODS. Anything that’s been manufactured in a plant by some big food company, rather than GROWN on a plant!

Think about this:
Coupons are put out by big food companies to get you to purchase their products. The problem is, their products are overly processed, full of sugar and preservatives, and engineered to create food addictions… which keeps you coming back for more!

What’s the alternative? Eat an apple and some raw nuts instead of a granola bar. Bake a potato in the microwave instead of making macaroni and cheese. Drink sparkling water with lemon instead of a sugar- or chemical-loaded soda.

Eating well and exercising are HABITS. I hope that this challenge has you thinking more about the habits of HEALTH and the habits of SICKNESS. Which will you choose?
