Move More – Using Simple Steps

Written by on January 23, 2017

Good morning! For those of you who are participating in the Losin’ It At Work competition, it’s weigh in day – I hope you’re all starting to think more about your daily choices, not just with food, but with exercise, as well!

I’ve been doing news stories periodically through the week that encourage participants in the Losin’ It At Work competition – here’s the one I’m doing today:

“In addition to preparing healthy meals and snacks that will carry you through the workday, Kelly Bower, fitness coordinator at the Paul Stock Aquatics and Recreation Center in Cody, says when it comes to moving more, every little bit helps.
“Bower encourages parking further away from your destination so you have to take more steps, as well as looking at joining a fitness class or some sort of group exercise.
“Bower says that the Cody Rec Center is open later in the winter to allow more opportunities for exercise. She added that the Center offers half hour fitness classes that are designed to get a good workout in over lunch hours, pointing out that the first class is always free for members and non-members alike.”

If you’re attempting to make healthy choices this year and HAVEN’T started meal planning yet, what are you waiting for? It is one of the CRITICAL steps in making healthy changes to your nutrition.

This post is a great outline, a step-by-step how-to on what you need to do to meal plan. And it’s from MyFitnessPal, which is hands-down the best online tracker I’ve found. It’s the one that I’ve been using for the past 6 years for tracking my food, my weight, and my exercise. I find when I use this tracker religiously, I reach my health goals! It’s all about accountability, and truly KNOWING what you’re doing with your body.
