Forest Supervisor Leaving Cody

The Park County Commissioners yesterday heard a final report from Shoshone National Forest Supervisor Joe Alexander.
Alexander will be transferring to the Missoula area in the next few days, and at yesterday’s meeting, gave a comprehensive report to the Commissioners.
Alexander updated the board on the status of the mountain biking plan; a pending forest plan lawsuit; strategies to mitigate the current attack of spruce budworms that is affecting the forest; and upcoming legislation that could affect outfitters.
Also at the meeting, Alexander thanked the commissioners for the positive working relationship between the board and the Forest Service.
Members of the commission also thanked Alexander for his service, noting that under his leadership, there has been a positive and open relationship between the County and the Forest Service.
