Funding to Become Available for Small Businesses
Written by Andrew-Rossi on September 17, 2018
Forward Cody is working with two other agencies to offer loans to small businesses that might not otherwise qualify for funding.
James Klessens, CEO for Forward Cody, says that they are working with Garland Light and Power and the USDA to create a fund that make loans available to those who want to either start up or expand a small business.
Klessens says that those who are putting together this fund have decided not to put restrictions on the types of businesses that can apply for the funds, but instead will take each application on a case by case basis. He adds that the purpose of this funding stream is to help businesses become viable so they can grow on their own.
He says there will be a committee that vets the loan applications that will be made up of members of the Forward Cody board, as well as representatives from the Powell Economic Partnership and Garland Light and Power.
About $360,000 will be available by the end of this year to those who want to apply for the funding.
