Greybull Man Honored by Military

Written by on October 16, 2018

A Greybull man was one of nine members of Wyoming’s National Guard who was recognized as one of this year’s Wyoming Military Department’s “Heroes Among Us”.
The Heroes Among Us Award recognizes heroic efforts of Wyoming Military Department personnel who assist fellow citizens outside the scope of their military duties. The awards were distributed Oct. 13th, during the annual Governor’s Reception, in Cheyenne.
At the event, Wyoming Army National Guard Specialist Kevin Miller, of Greybull, was recognized for his assistance with a one-car rollover near the Wind River tunnels with six injured persons, in July.
Other recipients were also heralded for their assistance at vehicle accidents around the state, as well as providing life-saving assistance to others, calling in to authorities as a witness to a domestic violence assault, and an anonymous airman was recognized for pulling an elderly man and his dog from Sloan’s Lake, in Cheyenne’s Lion’s Park in February.
Maj. Gen. Luke Reiner, Wyoming’s adjutant general, said the awardees represent the department well.
