Kanye West Casts “1st Vote” in Cody

Kanye West and his entourage arrived at the Cody Recreational Center mid-day on November 3rd to participate in the 2020 general election.
In a climate that is more boisterous now than ever before, West admitted he broke a long-standing trend by arriving at the rec center – this was his first time ever voting in an election. Anywhere.
“It’s beautiful,” he said. “It made me really happy to be an American.”
When asked why he decided to vote in person, rather than submitting an absentee ballot or voting early at the Park County Courthouse, his reply was comic and succinct:
“Was that an option?”
The issues that West finds most important were “food and shelter. People need food and people need shelter to survive. We have the ability to eradicate homelessness and hunger in this country and we will.”
West made headlines in 2020 by announcing his own presidential campaign, choosing Cody native Michelle Tidball as his vice president. Despite this declaration, his name does not appear as a presidential candidate on the Wyoming ballot.
His campaign confirms his name appears on ballots in Iowa.
