Norris Campground Closed; Dunraven Pass Open

Written by on May 18, 2018

Changing weather conditions and maintenance issues have closed one feature in Yellowstone, while allowing for the early opening of another.
The National Park Service yesterday notified the public that Norris campground will be closed until further notice. Officials say there are leaks in the water lines and no potable water. The campground was scheduled to open today.
On a brighter note, Dunraven Pass between Tower Fall and Canyon Junction WILL open today at 9 a.m., weather permitting. The opening of the pass is one week earlier than usual.
Visitors are encouraged to go online to the Park’s website for updates on campground and road closures, or to inquire at visitors centers in and around the Park.
