Primary Election Next Tuesday

Wyoming’s Primary election is right around the corner, and the Park County Clerk says that there has been a lot of interest in this year’s event.
Colleen Renner says that as of last week, 1820 absentee ballots had been issued to Park County voters, who can turn those in anytime between now and 7 p.m. on August 21st. She points out that those ballots must be turned in to the Elections Office at the Courthouse, and not at the polls on the day of the election.
Another candidate forum, focusing on House District 24 and the Park County Commissioner’s race, is scheduled for this Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Wapiti Elementary School. KODI’s Darian Dudrick will be moderating the forum, in which candidates will be given the opportunity to respond to preselected questions on key issues.
A little over half of the county’s population has registered to vote in this election, and about two-thirds of those registered are aged 50 and over.
