Suicide Prevention Awareness Week Sept 10-16

September 10th through the 16th is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Week, and one Cody woman is taking her personal message across the state.
On September 1st, Dr. Terresa Humphries-Wadsworth left Cody to walk across the state of Wyoming to raise awareness for suicide prevention. She and her traveling companion, Kelly Eckerdt of Powell, arrived safely in Glendo last night, just four days away from the end of their journey.
Wadsworth said that one of the goals for this walk was to bring thoughts of suicide out of the darkness and into the light, where people can find hope. And in her conversations with those who have joined her on her trek, she says that goal is being realized.
Wadsworth’s journey will end Friday, where she and Eckerdt will be met with a reception at the Veterans Medical Center building in downtown Cheyenne. You can follow her progress on her Facebook page, Walk Across WY.
