WATCH: Large Elk Herd Causes Traffic Jam in Montana

Now here’s a sight that’s unique to the west…

A driver near Deer Lodge Montana recently captured a video of a large herd of elk attempting to cross a road. The driver had stopped in order to let them cross. Midway through the crossing, the fence the elk were jumping snapped, causing them to get spooked and scatter back across the road.

Elk sightings in the Wyoming and Montana area are fairly common, but seeing a herd of this size is not as common.  Earlier in the fall, tourists in Wyoming got to see the unique sight of a grizzly bear taking down an elk in Yellowstone.  Check out the video and story linked below.
