Wheeler’s IGA to Re-Open

Written by on March 8, 2019

Basin’s grocery store will re-open April 1st.

An article in the Basin Republican-Rustler reports that the owners of the Basin Pharmacy and Copper Corner Cafe are purchasing the Wheeler’s IGA building from Ann Brundage.

Craig and Leslie Jones confirmed the agreement last week, and while it hasn’t been finalized, it is expected to be shortly. Craig told the newspaper that he and his wife are purchasing all equipment, shelving and remaining inventory from the Durbins, who were leasing the building from Brundage.

Craig Jones says that he and his wife made the decision to buy Wheeler’s because of their belief in the community, and the idea that businesses can build each other up. He said, quote, “we realized that in order for the pharmacy and cafe to remain sustainable, we needed a grocery store,” endquote.

The Joneses plan to keep the store name and affiliation with the IGA family. In addition to owning the pharmacy and cafe, the Joneses are also working to open a pharmacy in Greybull.
